The post-pandemic era presents both challenges and opportunities for the tourism and hospitality industry. The challenges include recovering from financial losses, implementing health and safety protocols, and adapting to changing traveler preferences. However, there are also opportunities for innovation and growth. The industry can embrace sustainability practices, leverage technology for enhanced guest experiences, and foster collaboration between academia and industry. By embracing these opportunities, the tourism and hospitality sector can not only recover but also thrive in the post-pandemic era, providing memorable experiences for travelers and contributing to economic growth and development.

 

Addressing the theme of "Tourism and Hospitality in the Age of Transformation", IMPACT2024 serves as a platform for industry executives, government officials and academics to interact on trends and insights, to share research findings and practices, to explore creative pathways, and to envisage strategies to the end of achieving sustainability, revitalisation and resilience after the pandemic. 

 

In a joint effort, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, its Hospitality and Tourism Research Centre, and STR have partnered to co-organize IMPACT2024. The conference is dedicated to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, with the aim of generating positive outcomes for the hospitality and tourism community.

 

IMPACT2024 is guided by a team of accomplished SHTM undergraduate students from the Practice of Special Events Class. These remarkable students have formed an organizing committee, taking charge of the conference's management and designing an enlightening program that ensures an incomparable experience for our diverse delegates.
